Has anyone heard this album? How good is it? i've only read positive reviews, but don't know what to think of a steve vai / sleater-kinney / ooioo crossing.

Definitely not for some people around here (namely the ATL/anti-ppdd set) but if you're in the Deerhoof/Blonde Redhead/Animal Collective camp I think you'll dig.
Not that it sounds like any of those, but it's got that adventurous, avant/experimental edge to it.
Damn fine player, whacko songs and just the right touch of personality and joy in the face of discovery to make it really endearing.

I like it. Damn pissed I missed her in Detroit last week.

I'm a pretty big fan, and I gave the record some love here.

i meant to give this record some love here, (as well as at ATAD) but I've been too fucking busy.

I have no idea what that means...

But the 1/2 a song I heard was OK. I'll probably give 'er a whirl sometime this week.
