I listed to the first half dozen songs of that Ry Cooder, and it's horrific. Just plain not good. Upon first listen, it sounds like an uninspired concept album for children. Not good. Blech.

I'm gonna give this as good a re-listen as I can. I did find what could be some okay tracks on the second half, but still not a whole lot.

Not even close. Even more disappointingly is a song that sounds exactly like "In My Town" on Chavez Ravine

I'm not a Cooder aficionado, but this kinda surprises me. I guess even good musicians can have "off" days.
