I want to catch Orioles games, but I don't feel like spending the monthly fee for cable every month. Seems like the MLB.tv premium package is what I'd be looking at for the $120/yr. BTW, cable (basic plus that will be carrying the new MASN), runs about $45/month. The 700K stream certainly looks nice. Hell, even the 400K stream sample looked pretty good.

Big question was how often games were blacked out, and also if games are archived to watch 24/7 since my work schedule might not permit me to watch the game at game time.

• Local Live Blackout: ALL LIVE MLB.TV games will be blacked out in each applicable Club's home television territory (except for certain home television territories for which MLB.com may offer in-market subscription services) or in Japan.
• Am I in a Local Live Blackout region? Check by club: If your zip code is on the list, you cannot watch the game live. (But you can watch the archive.)
Select a team Angels Astros Athletics Blue Jays Braves Brewers Cardinals Cubs Devil Rays Diamondbacks Dodgers Giants Indians Mariners Marlins Mets Nationals Orioles Padres Phillies Pirates Rangers Red Sox Reds Rockies Royals Tigers Twins White Sox Yankees

• National Live Blackout (Regular Season): Due to Major League Baseball national exclusivities, scheduled webcasts of certain games during the regular season (including nationally televised games) will be blacked out. Please be sure to visit www.MLB.TV during the 2007 MLB season for complete and updated schedule information.
• National Live Blackout (Post Season): Due to Major League Baseball national exclusivities, during the MLB postseason, if you live within the following nations or territories, webcasts of all postseason games will be blacked out: United States, Canada, Guam, US Virgin Islands, South Korea and Japan. Please be sure to visit www.MLB.TV during the 2007 MLB season for complete and updated schedule information.
• NOTE: Due to broadcast restrictions, new MLB.TV and Condensed Game archives are limited to a playing time of five minutes in duration until 6 am ET on the day following that on which the applicable game commenced play.

It looks like all of the games are archived but you have to wait until 6AM the next day to watch a full version of the game (instead of the 5 minute condensed version)

Based on the Blackout restrictions listed above i think that if you're in the local TV market you may be blacked out from most Orioles games (but should be allowed to watch all of the archives). I'd try to find someone locally who's had the service or call mlb.tv up and ask the question.

fuck mlb.tv. and fuck mlb for trying to force me to buy it. i can't get directv anymore and they are fucking me directly in the ass. well, even though they clearly don't care about my loyalty to their shitty business, i am taking it away from them. they can go fuck themselves. or maybe i will throw a slingbox up in my parents house. either way, fuck them.

Well, my quadry is different as stated above.

DHR--yeah, I figured about the blackout days. I wrote them an email concerning how many O's games were blacked out last season and never got a response. The delay would probably be fine though.
