I am really angry at my BFF right now. We've been friends since middle school, but have been besties ever since we both moved to SF a few years ago. Sometimes she's not really good at doing good-friend-stuff, though. She emailed the other day just to say hi, and I emailed her back telling her that my cat had died. This is definitely a situation where a phone call is warranted, in my opinion, but I did not even get an email reply. When her dog died last year, I talked to her on the phone for a long time, brought her flowers, and even sent flowers to her mom (who I know very well). WTF?! Some friend.

Also, it sucks to not get invited to something, but sometimes there really is just a communication breakdown. There have been some times when my friends have all gone out somewhere and I find out the next day and they are like "yeah, I don't know, I guess just no one called you." And likewise, there are certain times when we're all hanging out and all of a sudden we'll be like, "wait a minute, where's Elliot?" "Huh. I guess no one called him." And then we feel like big jerks.
