That's a mighty fine playlist. I like 98% of those songs... that's rare around here. Today I'm listening to NPR.

Rumor has it that my born-again Christian aunt used to bang Kareem A-J back in the 80s when she worked for him.

I'm listening to the second set where they cover VU's Loaded in its entirety.

Kings Of Leaon: Because of the Times

To me, this pretty much sucks. They seem locked in a downhill spiral. Their first album is still their best. They keep trying to be more clever and interestering each time around and just lose the catchy rockin' charm they started out with. They've still got a couple decent tracks. Maybe it will grow on me, but I kinda doubt it. This one seems to be a real disappointment for me since I really liekd their debut and the second, while a bit weaker, was still really fun. They need to stop trying so hard.

That really bothers me. I will not be able to listen to that as I don't know how I would be able to reconcile my fondness for Loaded with my hatred of Phish. I think I'm best off just pretending such a thing does not exist.

The Twilight Sad - Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters

I like this quite a bit. Fans of Kitchens of Distinction's sound (sonically, not lyrically) might dig this.

Gang Gang Dance "Retina Riddim"

Hey, what is this?

I was kinda sick today and didn't have to work so I mostly slept. During the little bit of time I've been awake, it's been (or will be):

Sun Ra - Sound of Joy
George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
The Byrds - Younger Than Yesterday
Calexico - Garden Ruin
Quasi - Featuring "Birds"

np: Calexico - "Letter To Bowie Knife (Live On WXPN)"

My friend was apt hunting on Saturday & saw Kareem. How did he know it was Kareem? Well other than the fact he's a 7 foot skinny black dude, he also had his name embroidered on his jacket
