I thought he'd have a name that was either cooler, or much more banal.

Even Kramer's first name was "Cosmo"....

I don't think it could have been anything else.

What was that website onto which Comic Book Guy uploaded the video of Homer dancing? Websites featured on the show tend to be replicated on the internet, like Mr. X.

Too bad they ever did anything with Betterthantv.com, the site which hired Bart to produce Angry Dad.

I'm ok with him having a name, but Wikipedia should really refer to him as Comic Book Guy. I'm not going to be the one to change it, though.

i didn't watch that part of the episode (how did they reveal it?) but it doesn't surprise me. i'm convinced that the people currently responsible for the show will approve any idea that is thrown at them.

Who is Ted? or who is Comic Book Guy?

Either way, you need to watch more Fox tv. :P

I saw a new Simpsons episode a couple of weeks ago and it was almost unwatchable. It's pretty sad that a great TV programme has been allowed to descend to it's current level just because it makes a lot of money for Fox.

The facts are that after 300 episodes (or whatever it is) there is no place for the show to go anymore and that's been the case for at least the last 100.

Any Simpsons fans will tell you the show has been in terminal decline since Mike Scully took over in season 10.

Comic Book Guy is on the Simpsons. He's..um..the comic book store guy...big nerd that think's he's cool.

Ted McGinley is the smell of death for a sitcom. He's been on a bunch of shows that were on for awhile right before they were cancelled. He was the neighbor Marcy's 2nd husband on Married with Children. He was on Happy Days, and is now on Faith and Hope as the husband.

one of my favorite recent acquisitions is the season five dvd, and the level of sheer joy that i get from watching (as well as re-living the first time i watched them) the episodes is such an unbelievable departure from the utter scorn i show for the countless recent seasons of brainless garbage. it's an unbelievable shame that my favorite show growing up has descnded into crap.

Seasons Four, Five and Six were the pinnacle of all television. They hit their stride, and realized what they were able to do in regards to referencing/parodying so many touchstones of culture.

The Simpsons jumped the shark with the Sherry Bobbins episode.
