First Bruce Dickinson, now Josh Homme? Just STFU already, Mrs. Ozzy!

Sharon Osbourne has said she hopes Queen Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme "gets syphilis and dies" after he criticised her husband Ozzy's Ozzfest tour.

Homme responded to a comment in this month's Blender magazine made about his bands decision to never take part in Ozzfest again because "they treat the bands like sh*t."

Now Sharon, who created the Ozzfest tour in 1996, has responded with the following statement: "I hope he gets syphilis and dies. I hope his d*ck f**kin' falls off so his mother can eat it."

Queens Of The Stone Age release their new album Era Vulgaris in June.

Era Vulgaris indeed.

So when's the last time Ozzy produced something that was actually worth listening to...20 years ago?

(I'm being charitable here)

When did "Perry Mason" come out? It's ridiculous, but once I'd heard it several times, it had insidiously worked it's way into my melon.

No More Tears came out in '91--after that, I got nothing for ya on Ozzy.

"Perry Mason" came out in 1995 on the album Ozzmosis though I think I could successfully build a case that the last album he did that wasn't a complete joke would be this one:

No Rest For The Wicked (1988)

Image

which features the debut of Zakk Wylde and is a great "comeback" album after the disappointing Ultimate Sin (1986).

Coincidentally, he has a NEW album coming out soon:

Black Rain is the working title of Ozzy Osbourne's ninth studio album, slated for release May 22, 2007 on Epic Records[1]. Black Rain is the follow up album to Ozzy's 2001 release Down to Earth. Short previews of most of the songs are available on ozzy.com, and the first single, I Don't Wanna Stop, was released on Ozzy.com on April 13th.

I'd be willing to bet it sucks a giant sweetleaf dick though.

The SONGS from that album sucked, but the VIDEOS were AWESOME! Ozzy as J.R. Ewing in the video for the title track? Dweezil Zappa cruising The Sunset Strip with a convertible full of future OC soccer moms in "Shot in the Dark"? GOLD, JERRY, GOLD!!!

No More Tears kicks No Rest for the Wicked's ass. Other than the hidden song (which may be one of the best Zakk Wylde songs ever), what does No Rest for the Wicked have to offer? Crazy Babies?

Perry Mason is a great song, but Ozzmosis as a whole was pretty boring. That said I will probably buy his new album, because he is Ozzy Osbourne and there's always hope.

Yeah, I still listen to that one with a fair degree of regularity.

You are insane.

To recap:

No More Tears

"Mr. Tinkertrain" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo) - 5:55
"I Don't Want to Change the World" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo, Lemmy) - 4:04
"Mama, I'm Coming Home" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Lemmy) - 5:11
"Desire" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo, Lemmy) - 5:45
"No More Tears" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Mike Inez, Randy Castillo, John Purdell) - 7:22
"S.I.N." (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo) - 4:46
"Hellraiser" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Lemmy) - 4:51
"Time after Time" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde) - 4:20
"Zombie Stomp" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo) - 6:13
"A.V.H." (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo) - 4:12
"Road to Nowhere" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo) - 5:09

vs.

No Rest For The Wicked

"Miracle Man"(Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Bob Daisley)
"Devil's Daughter"
"Crazy Babies"(Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Bob Daisley, Randy Castillo)
"Breaking All the Rules"
"Bloodbath In Paradise"
"Fire In the Sky"
"Tattooed Dancer" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Bob Daisley)
"Demon Alcohol" (Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Bob Daisley, Randy Castillo)
"Hero"(Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, Bob Daisley, Randy Castillo, John Sinclair) (unlisted track)

It's no contest, really as No More Tears was an album geared to sell to 16-year old girls. After this album is when Ozzy truly jumped the shark.
