finally got around to hearing this, and other than all the fawning it's both interesting and entertaining.

Finally caught this up in my netflix queue from a long wait. I was so giddy when both discs were in my mailbox. The band had such a profound impact on me in college. I was never much of a "chains and leather" punk, so I felt where they were coming from. I felt their aesthetic. Their songs hit me like a tidal wave in the mornings when I just didn't want to wake up. I'd drop the needle on Double Nickels, head for the toilet and come back to D twangin' away.

The doc was everything I hoped it would be. Camerawork was a bit wonky, but the mass numbers of interviews was great. Good to see who they dug up other than the usual talking heads (Rollins, et al). Greg f'n Norton. My god. I was laughing throughout cause I haven't seen most of these guys as of recent. Just remember promo/album shots.

Sorry Watt--never got the joke with Double Nickels either.

Amazing disc 2. Live performances at 9:30 Club...the old shitty one. Rock out tomorrow evening to those.

Deleted scenes are worthwhile. Ed fROMOHIO's story was cool, even though I've heard the story a million times. Thurston's story about how and when he met Watt will be played probably over and over for friends.

This is probably my favorite music DVD of all the ones I own.

I love the video for "This Ain't No Picnic".

We Jam Econo is awesome. It even made me cry.

New York Doll did too. Anytime musicians I love die and it's well documented I cry.
