I still don't understand the attraction to this band, but what the heck...here's a bit of good news for those who are fans. Courtesy of tinymixtapes.com:

A Good Band is Easy to Kill, but bad bands get all the money and fame: Beulah in DVD form

Remember Beulah? Y'know, the guys who had to break up because only those of us nerdy enough to search them out bought their records? Yeah, those guys. They were great. Hell, they were better than great -- they were... super great.

Before I start throwing lame adjectives around, I'd like to inform you that the members of Beulah are the subjects of an upcoming documentary. A Good Band is Easy to Kill follows Beulah on the band's final tour in support of Yoko. The first showing of the film is scheduled for Newport, Kentucky's Lite Brite Indie Pop & Film Test July 29-31.

Further Down Films also states the 89-minute tour feature will have its scheduled DVD release on August 2nd. While the film itself focuses on what goes down on the tour, the DVD will house 17 performances spanning all 4 Beulah albums, as well as numerous deleted scenes that didn't make the documentary. What can we say -- this is one hell of a DVD.

A Good Band is Easy to Kill performance listing:

Landslide Baby
Gene Autry
Emma Blowgun’s Last Stand
I Love John, She Loves Paul
Gravity is Bringing Us Down
Popular Mechanics for Lovers
A Good Man is Easy to Kill
If We Can Land a Man on the Moon
Matter vs. Space
Night is the Day Turned Inside Out
Battle Cry of the West
Don’t Forget to Breathe
Silver Lining
Score from Augusta
Me and Jesus Don’t Talk Anymore
Lay Low for the Letdown
Disco: The Secretaries Blues

That's too bad. They put out some great pop music as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, thanks. Not a huge fan or anything but I do like them and love documentaries in general but especially about bands.

More proof that Wilco wants to be Beulah - they even went so far as to preempt their documentary.

I gave it some time and serious consideration, but I've decided to still drink beer with you.

That is, if I ever make it out that way, or for some God-forbidden reason you're ever in this area of the world.

Phew! At least I know the possibility is there. :)

Exactly.

My genius will be documented...and televised.

Oh, how I love this band. Here's their very own "GLARING OMISSIONS" mix, as proof...

yeah, this film is pretty weak. i like beulah and i ended up disliking milo as a result of this film. although, i suppose it was nice to know why i waited outside of the philadelphia show for hours and watched the NLCS at the bar across the courtyard.
