My peeps in Houston should be happy, though. I figured Akoye would be off the board before the 10 pick. I think he will be very good. Plus there's a whole lot of Nigerians here in Houston. I'm not sure how much they care about football, but maybe he will become a fan favorite.

The NBA draft is so much better than the NFL simply because you can watch peoples dreams go down the toilet right in front of your eyes.

Anyone that goes in the 1st or 2nd round in the NFL will most likely get at least one good contract and some playing time.

In the NBA you get to watch dudes who think their game is "pro ready" because agents have told them so and then drop, and drop, and drop, until..........tears............and then........................out of the league in one season.

America at it's best.

I'm liking the Bears draft so far. Greg Olsen at #31 (who I didn't think would be available at that point) and then trading #37 for Chargers' second (#62), their third, their fifth and their 3rd in '08.

Considering our GM Angelo works his best in the later rounds (damn near genius if I do say so myself), I'm really liking the extra draft picks.

Because Brady thought he'd go top five, then sulked on national TV when Ginn got picked at number 9, and he lost out on about $25 million in guaranteed money.

That, and the Browns managed to get him after all, while grabbing Thomas at the number 3 spot.

I hope so.

I think we've done pretty good; I'll have to look further into some of these schlubs.

Ravens got Troy Smith in the 5th rd. Not too bad. Should be ready when McNair steps down. Thank god, we don't have to depend on Boller anymore...geh.

I'm real happy with HB Blades coming to us in round 6. Congrats to Dan Snyder for not doing anything stupid. The Packers got a good one in Clark Harris in round 7, too.

I didn't watch much of the draft yesterday once Jay Moore from Nebraska was drafted early in the fourth round by the niners, since no one else from the Huskers was going to be picked.
I spent the day out on my patio drinking beer instead, it was 90 degrees here yesterday.
I thought the ATL crew would be more excited that Milner was picked by the Falcons.

Who? Martrez "Stone Hands" Milner?

He's my boy because he wore the silver britches but I have doubts that he'll even make the team.

He's not even in the top 5 UGA Tight Ends of the last ten years.

Unbelievable first round for LSU.

As far as the Saints go, I have no idea considering the Saints new plan is to only draft dudes from small colleges that I've never heard of. Worked well last year, so who am I to complain.

I'll give you Wingate, but what's up with the MAC hate?
