- Create playlist
- Add album-of-choice
- Add similar albums as designated by MusicMagic
- Save playlist
- Transfer playlist to iPod
- Set iPod for album shuffle
- Start playlist with album-of-choice

Each playlist is 3.5 to 4 GB worth, so I can fit 4+ on a 20GB iPod.

Then again, I was stupid and started importing at 196k and, now that I have 18GB or so on there, I'm debating starting the whole process over and putting those things on at 128k in hopes of more albums fitting on this thing...

Try 128kbs AAC files if you're going to - they sound as good as, and maybe better than 160kbs mp3s. But I don't envy you re-ripping everything . . . Godspeed, my man.

I'm doing it at home as we speak - for lack of hard drive space, ended up filling my IPod, erasing all of my other music/stuff that I can get back on there easily, then buying that program (podworks?) that allows you to go IPod to Hard Drive, then converting mp3's to aac's one chunk at a time and deleting the mp3's once I'm done...

It was taking FOREVER last night, but seemed to be working a lot faster this morning. Hopefully, once I get home, I'll have through "L" converted, and a buttload of (hopefully easy to find) mp3's to delete...

It'll all be worth it. I swear...

I've done the re-rip too; Started out at 192VBR and ate up most of my space really quickly, plus had memory problems because of file size/buffer memory problems; I re-ripped at 128VBR and have tonnes more space now.

However, last night everything went wrong. Hooked up the iPod and got a warning "iTunes cannot access content" and "please reset to factory settings". I couldn't find a work around at all, so I had to wipe the fucker and start all over. Fortunately I still had most on my HD, but it's taken me awhile and I'm also shell-shocked a bit.

Has anyone else had a similar crash?
