Anyone heard anything from it? Worth getting excited about?

I like the one song that I downloaded a week or so ago.

I tried to go see them the other night but it was sold out.

I didn't even know about this. I'm out of the loop. Out of the loop!

That being said,

They played here last year trying out a lot of the new material and it came off pretty welll live. As far as the record goes- I love Scavengers, but found Televise to be sqaurely in the middle of the road and pretty boring. So, I'll give the new one a listen but have no real expectations for it.

Sage Francis in Seattle tonight- I'm completely chuffed for this!!

No particular band comes to mind. They are sorta experimental and arty while still being very accessible. Indie rock that won't have you banging your head. More laid back.

Some find them incredibly boring. For me Scavengers and Televise are pretty similar but their debut was for all intents an instrumental album.

They are probably the best shoegazer band out there today, except for Radio Dept. I discovered them thru Televise and can see it being boring for some but love that album. Downloaded Scavengers but have yet to listen to it and told to stay away from the debut.

Find it funny that they are “in town” with the NYC poster, as they live there.

Great show last nite. They played mostly new stuff. 2-3 songs from previous albums.

This one:

Mentioned before was played. The new stuff I'd say is more hook laden melodies. Still very dark, space-y music. Wasn't much of a fan before but I'm looking forward to the release of the new album in June.

Barzin opened for them. Nice discovery. A bit like Sufjan Stevens but mellower if that's possible. Real purty music.
