they playing in boston on monday and i sort of want to go but a $15 ticket gets bumped up to $24 if i buy it online and the only other place to get a ticket is kind of out of the way near boston common. i'm not sure if i really want to pay that much for a band i've seen once and thought they were decent. louis xiv is playing too but i don't know much about them.
what do ya'll think?

They're playing here on a bill with Louis XIV as well (plus the Futureheads) - so I've been looking into LXVI the past couple days. They're not bad - sorta '70s glam with a vocalist who talks more than sings in a voice that sounds a lot like Iggy to me - but every bit of press I've read tags them as some sorta buzz band, which is generally the mark of suck.

Not a fan of Louis XIV...They're totally "buzz"ing round Los Angeles right now (I think they're from a suburb of San Diego)...

$15 ain't a bad price for HHH....$24 is. Spend wisely when purchasing unneeded goods, my friend...

(Side Note: I'm not sure whether I'm more surprised that:
1) the new HHH album hasn't leaked yet, or
2) that no one seems to care that they're putting out another album)

at the siren festival in 2003, hot hot heat's volume was turned up so high that i could feel parts of my brain begin to leak out my ears. i haven't been able to look at them the same way since.

Having been unmercifully subjected to Louis XIV way too many times (props to their manager who has managed to get them to open for quite a few bands in LA), I can honestly say that I FUCKING HATE THIS BAND WITH A PASSION! No, really...I mean it. They truly are quite talentless and it's unfortunate for those who go see them that learn they sound nothing like their album (according to trusted friends' opinions that attest to liking it). They've vocals that grate on the ears and a performance that leaves you wishing you had tomatoes to throw at them. My friends and I have vowed to make "JUST SAY NO TO LOUIS XIV" next time we're forced to see them again.

As for Hot Hot Heat -- they're ok, don't care for their teeny bopper audience.

I wouldn't pay it. $24 for Hot Hot Heat seems a little much- how long are they going to play for your hard earned $$?

dude they're not worth $15. after you get some drinks all of the sudden you're in for like $50 for hhh. that's not a fair trade. for $24 i'd need something promising waiting for me there as well.

Dude, I'd go just for that. I saw HHH 3 times in the course of summer of '03. That was enough for me. I didn't care to see them when they played LA last weekend, and that Dustin guy is a fuckin prick. He was spinning at some show I was working at for the "official afterparty."

But, I do dig that new track off their new album. Guilty pleasure type stuff.

And seriously, that true love is blind song by Louie XIV is really annoying.

i'm never going to a show at the venue they were at again. it would've sounded better played through this. at least i missed louis xiv and the information.

I am not-so-slowly falling in love w/the new Hot Hot Heat song, "You owe me an IOU"...

I am not-so-slowly falling out of love with that annoying ass Louis XIV song...

Both of them are one of about nine songs featured on MLB 2005 for the Game Cube, so I heard them quite a bit this weekend...

<- El Nerdo...
