So, I think my Creative Zen is buying the farm on me...

I have foucsed my attention on the 40gb Ipod.

I dont need the pictures or color screen or anything.

Best deals I Have found were $349 at Office Depot, or $349 ($319 using a Amazon Visa card) from Amazon.com


Anyone seen these go cheaper anywhere else? Im looking for NEW and not refurbished or 3rd generation (whatever they are calling it these days)....


Still worried bout the battery problems....

They're dropping due to Apple getting ready for a new IPod product line...

Mini's are going from 5G to 6G (and losing the gold color), and IPods are to be available as a 20G regular, and 40G and 60G "photo" versions, so the 40G should be going down in price in order to clear it off the shelves...

and me just having bought a 20G in January...sigh...

319 for a 40 when I just paid 299 for a 20. At least I didn't pay 249 for a mini.

i think the photo ipod's are now just 30 and 60GB.

i need to finally get me one. the 60GB list is $449...too steep for me.

what is the amazon visa discount? 10% off first purchase for opening up a card with them?

Yeah, you sing up for a card, and they take 30bux off the 349 cost.

It sometimes just dies on me....Ill have it sit on my desk, listening with speakers and it will just die....it wont power on again. i have to remove the case. take the battery out, blow to see if there is any dust in there....put everything back, then its fine again for a while.

then some albums just get deleted off of it. only to show up a day later, back in my folders.


i have kept it in stellar condition, so i thought.

yeah, they dont make 40gb ipods anymore. its either a 20gb regular ipod, or a 30gb or a 60gb ipod photo.

It's not under warranty?

It's over a year now....but i also havent fully investigated the warranty option either...perhaps I shall...

of course, i am nearly out of room, and wouldnt mind bumping up to a 40g or 60g model.


with the new batch of ipods coming out, the 40gb model amazon and office dpot have seem like a decent deal.

it would still be worth getting it refurbed under warranty and selling it off

That scares me...I have a Zen 20gb...Had it for about 1yr and 3months....It has been great except for the occasional freezing...
