Here is a picture from a couple of years ago with my oldest son and our German Shepherd, Miranda, who is now 9 and having lots-o-hip problems. I always thought a good indie rock webzine titled would be "Hip Displeasure."

German Shepherds RULE! Our's turns 11 in February.

You ain't lyin', Akin. There is no better breed that is so good with kids while being a bad ass watchdog. They instinctively protect, and show nothing but gentle love for their owners.

Break into a house with a German Shepherd, and leave missing a large chunk of your ass.

Collies are the bomb. We've got a collie and sheltie. There have only been 8 years when there hasn't been a collie in the family.

Dumb question: how do you post a personal photo on a message board? I use Shutterfly for all my photos---can I copy from that site into this board? As you can tell, I'm quite computer illiterate. Thanks for any help.

This is our first collie, he's such a sweetheart. We've had a sheltie before as well. He was a bit neurotic, but the most obedient dog we've ever own and a sweetheart as well.

I'm not sure how Shutterfly works, but I use Village Photo and they give you a URL for each picture you upload.

Zooropa is the only good post-Achtung Baby record. it was a staple of my high school listening and i still put it on often enough (esp. the first half). if "vertigo" is anything to judge by, Atomic Bomb won't change my view, but i'm pulling for 'em...

FT, I tried and tried to leave this alone. I'm SURE Miranda is absolutely adorable, but, no other breed has a worse history of biting KIDS than German Shephards. Worse than pitbulls, rottweilers..anything.

Not Miranda! :)

Or your dog either, Aerodynamics!

Just sayin'

Perhaps, but my grandparents bred GSDs when I was a wee one, the first dog I ever had as a kid was a GSD, and my wife and I have had two GSDs since we got married, and no such aggression towards children has ever been displayed.

However, you are correct about Pit Bulls having a bad rap, Steve. A few bad apples have unfairly shaded pubic opinion against this entire breed. My wife is a dog trainer and groomer, so she always provides me with an endless supply of canine-related information.

Sorry to re-hijack, but I wanted to see if I could actually post a picture successfully. I did it!

This is Ellie. I adopted her about a month ago. She's such a sweetheart and she totally thinks I'm the greatest. It's so cool!

well, don't take my word for it. my tastes of late have skewed towards wire, sonic youth, with some more obvious melodic stuff via volcano, i'm still excited. so, "revisionist U2" isn't exactly what i'm all about right now.

but, it does seem like an obvious extension of All That on first listen.
