i saw them on saturday and really wasn't prepared for the style change. it wasn't bad. it's just that i remembered them having a different sound before - a little more aggressive. but i kinda liked it after a while. one of my friends who'd never heard them before even remarked, "i like their slower songs way more."

I'm not sure how I feel about this new record yet. It seems to be missing that bite the last record had.

Also, I agree about their live show. When they toured on Get Yr Blood Sucked Out, they were performing mostly as a duo with the occasional guest playing bass on a couple of songs or something. Anita handled vox and guitar, and Kevin was normally behind the drum kit, where he pretty much murdered. It worked better that way. Now they are a 4 piece with some new hired drummer who is certainly passable, but doesn't perform with half the intensity.

Anyway..I hope this new one grows on me.

Wow, I didn't know they had a new one out. I feel like I was just searching Amazon a couple of months back..... anyway, another one for my ever-growing list of albums I need to pick up, but have yet to.

meh. i guess i liked their other album more, tho i haven't listened to the whole thing.

I've been a fan of a few of their songs. This album is sounding a little more directed on fleshing out the songs. I agree it seems more tempered and less raucous, too, but so far I'm digging what I hear. [I think]This was a tenner band find for me, so thanks for that.
