Very hard, but went with Doolittle over Let it Be and Forever Changes.

Tough between Eno and The Pixies. If this had been Here Come the Warm Jets, Another Green World or even Before and After Science, I would have picked Eno.

But Tiger Mountain is my least favorite of his first four pop albums, so I picked Doolittle, my favorite Pixies album.

If it had been 10 years ago, I would have gone with Pixies.
15 years ago, Replacements.
But it's now, so it's gotta be Eno (which was also my nomination).

Eno, my love for his music and a few songs on this album outweigh my youthful enjoyment of The Pixies.

I'd be shocked if Doolittle and Let It Be don't advance.

Let It Be...the best Replacements album.

Forever Changes was an easy choice for me. Pixies haven't aged that well for me as much as I like FB solo. Doolittle is a fun record but its not one of my favorites any more. I'd expect Doolittle to win this round easily but I'm surprised how far Forever Changes is out of 2nd place.

I actually pulled this out after this thread got put up. I dunno. For some reason I just have never understood the "classic" tag and praise that has been heaped on it. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good album if not a little hippie dippy for me at times.

To me, it sounds like a US version of "Piper At The Gates of Dawn" with a bit better orchestration. I guess if I'm going to listen to stuff from that era or style I'm probably listening to the Byrds.

If you're not that into the orchestral aspect of it you probably won't agree with the classic tag. I understand that a lot of people aren't going to find it special, but those that do really like it generally love it. Looking at the voting options, I'd thought 50 cent would get next to no support, Replacements & Doolittle would split the reg rock vote with Doolittle winning and the hardcore fans of Forever Changes plus capturing a majority of the anti-reg rock crowd might be enough to push FC to #2 or at least close. But it doesn't look that way. I guess I'm mainly surprised that it even trails what I think most people would say isn't Eno's strongest work.
