You seem way too comfortable. Drink a little. Hang out with some new people. Don't be so polite and disingenuous. Unbutton your shirt a few notches. Read something that will ignite potent lyrical influence. Get in a fist fight over something stupid. Lose. See if you can score blow without getting thrown in jail. Tell people what you think of them, and call them on their bullshit. Fuck someone you don't particularly like. Lie about shit for no particular reason. Leave town for the weekend. Shit. Do something.

this is awesome.

What's true about it? The second I read it in the quote I laughed out loud because it's a bunch of melodramatic nonsense. And he left out the part about buying new appliances, too.

How else was SK supposed to deal with the barb and critics in the thread? "Hey Dalen, Kingfish, you're right. This is kind of shitty, I'll scrap everything and start from scratch in an entire new genre that you think is much more adventurous and inspired." Or maybe "Hey Mick you're right I AM too laid back. So fuck your mothers you miserable cunts, the song is what it fucking is and all your musical taste fucking sucks."

Certainly, getting me to take the bait and go on some crybaby rant would make for an extraordinarily entertaining thread, especially considering some of the whiny shit I used to post.

Thing is, I just don't take this all that seriously anymore, or at least I try not to. It's just some silly song I wrote and recorded. I'm gonna put it out there, and if people like it or don't like it, so be it. It is what it is. I hesitate to call it "art" - really, who gives a fuck about this. It's a 2 and a half minute pop song.

I just try to have fun making music these days. There's some really interesting opinions in this thread. I wasn't looking to make a big deal out of this or anything, or make some stand.

I actually don't really care much about selling this. I can see why some might say it has commercial tendencies, but I'm not shopping this or anything. I'm going to put it out on my silly little corner of the internet, it's going to be almost completely ignored, and I'll move on to the next silly other thing.

As for the song, I'll probably look at a few of the minor changes that were suggested. I can definitely understand some of the feedback regarding the vocals sounding tentative, and Rachel and I talked about it some last night.

we have decided to release these two other songs as the first single

http://www.myspace.com/roxyswain

I think we are happy with the way the first song sounds, but the question with the second song is whether the guitars crowd the vocals out too much? Thanks.
