I had one of these. In fact it was IDENTICAL -- except with a metallic blue finish and matching-colored pickups -- a 1965 Harmony-built Silvertone.
Sold it back in 1997 for $100.
I only paid $50 for it a few years earlier, so I made a 100% profit on it, but still... how much is something like this going for these days?

Oh, and I hated playing the damn thing. It had a neck like a baseball bat, was light as a feather, and would NOT stay in-tune. (Really crappy tuners.)

Still, a mistake given the market? Should I have waited?

Never really been into the Harmony / Silvertones. They look cool, and sometimes they even sound ok, but they play like garbage. Just never could get into them. No idea what they go for now.

Exactly why I sold it.
Although it did have a decent, if very thin, sound.

Warped necks and high action is generally the deal. Every once in awhile you find one that just magically plays ok. I think I found a Harmony archtop from the 60's that was pretty ok, but it was also like $600.

Neeeerrrp.

I love those guitars, I would have given you 150...after a good set up, those things can sound great.

So the moral of the story, Todd, is to find the Fuck You Dave's out there and allow them to over-pay you.

on a semi-related note, what's that website that lists all the signature guitars and pedal configs for guitar players from different famous bands?

... the moral is to find people who really like those guitars for what ever reason and let them pay you as much as they want. As opposed to trading it in, or shrugging it off on someone who's only mildly interested.

Sold it to This guy, who tore out the (microphonic) pickups to use in a baritone guitar that he was building.

What you really want is THIS 156 page thread from Harmony Central called Pedalboards of the Stars.

I've seriously killed hours flipping through it.
