Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain (containing their minor hit and GAR fave, Cut Your Hair) is their best record and where they peaked.

Spit on a Stranger and Carrot Rope were the two stand-outs on Terror Twilight which was definitely the death gasp of a band who'd been out of ideas since Wowee Zowee.

A retrogressive move.

The last few Jicks records have been good (as opposed to those billed simply "Stephen Malkmus").

Anyway, as far as I can see, everyone of these 'comebacks' is yet another funeral for Rock N' Roll, deceased. Hey, everyone, let's all gather together and remember the good old egg.

Somewhere in the vastness of the universe a cartoon sound effect of a rubber band pinging back is heard and ever piece of matter comes rushing back to a single point.

"That's not how I wanted to go out. No way. I did it myself, man. DIY style. I didn't need a whole bunch of doctors and fancy medical equipment and the comfort of assorted friends and family to pass away in a highly publicized manner. Fuck that. All I needed was a shotgun, some heroin, a couple of Valiums, and Automatic For The People spinning on the turntable. Simple. Perfect. Punk rock."

interesting. i was just wondering if it's just me... did i just get old? i was listening to the live nirvana album today and loving it, and kind of missing the era from 90-97ish.... and wondering if music changed, or did i just change?

i do feel as well that something is lacking these days, and the reunions, though fun at times, are a bit of a testament to how bad things are now, or maybe it's just how different things are now. who knows? i miss my youth.

I don't really like this band, but I wouln't call them "hookless".

I like pavement, though possibly not as zealously as some...

and they definitely had their "hooks". I smell a pavement 10'er of their hookiest songs on the way but, if you like "Cut Your Hair", there's a lot more out there...
