I forgot I owned this movie and I love it so.

We just watched it tonight and damn, this movie is incredible.

I absolutely love the story and the performances. Not to mention there's a really interesting sex scene that takes place between a man, a woman, and a violin. Always a treat.

Men, own this one. For real.

To get back on topic, yes, Jen, this is a wonderful film. I own it too! I was actually jonesing to watch a few weeks ago, and realized I'd loaned it to a friend who has yet to return it.

I don't know if I'd classify it as a movie that "revs girls up," as my husband enjoyed it immensely as well.

Funny, but while watching this, I had this weird moment where I swear while this guy was in character, he bared a more then passing resemblance to Spade. It was weird.

Or Exotica.

After I saw that on his site, I remembered his character.

And oddly enough, someone on the ViaChicago board today brought up her giant crush on him and saw him at the Vancouver film fest.

I didn't realize he was so well accomplished(co-wrote and scored Red Violin too) and popular.

I almost wrote him off as an interesting minor character in Red Violin. Guess not.

dude's really popular and well respected in the canadian arts community. i really dig him. "waydowntown" is one of my favorites, though most other people don't share my appreciation for it. i use to spend hours hanging out in the +15 walkways where it was filmed.
