are we supposed to be naming dark movies with kids in them? or dark movies that have kids as a target audience?

DDR is one of the least annoying posters on here.

If I hung out with him his cheapness might get to me pretty quickly though...

I'm watching this right now. Weird movie that I'd forgotten about. For as rarely as I watch a movie this probably wasn't a great choice to blow my wad over

the orphan... most fucked up movie i have ever seen.

seen all the faces of death movies and they don't compare. best part was when i was leaving i noticed it was mostly other kids in the audience. parents suck!

seriously watch it and then realize that it was just some little girl playing the role... good luck on enjoying the rest of her childhood.

also any coming of age movie ever made. (Virgin Suicides, Thirteen, Lolita, White Oleander, all movies made in France, etc.)

for the "dark kids" stuff, not really hard to find. Most PG movies have adult material in them. the darkest movie made for kids is either Nightmare Before Christmas (characters had axes coming out of their heads and children were eaten) or Bridge to Terebithia/ My Girl. Yeah Bambi losing your mom sucked, but how much worse would it have been if Thumper was filleted on a bear trap?

I saw City of Ember recently. It's not very dark (although strangely enough, it mostly IS about light/darkness) but it's still pretty cool. It's a fantasy/sci-fi plot that's been done before, but it's done well enough this time around, and with two kids as the protagonists.

Also I saw Coraline. It's freaky.
