Here's a list of lists. Top fives from a bunch of different artists, many of whom I have seen get mentioned with some frequency around here:

Great lists....

And Dean Wareham's:

The Feelies – Crazy Rhythms
The Feelies – The Good Earth

I got these on cd this fall because it now is officially many years since I dealt with the old vinyl... and I listened to them as much as anything released this year.. still sounding brand new.

Thanks...that was interesting.

Kudos to Patterson for the Bloodkin at # 1...great album.

I saw lots of love for Real Estate...is it really that good ?

I am still shocked by the overall lack of love for Lucero's 1372 Overton Park, which is hands down my # 1 for the year.

Yeah, those are great, especially The Good Earth. I like it more than Crazy Rhythms, actually. I need to pick up Only Life now.

I think so, yeah. Worth checking out, especially for anyone who likes that Ganglians record. It's more straightforward than that, but it's got a similarly warm, easy vibe to it.

You've got to be careful with artists' lists, though. A lot of times they've got their friends' bands and whatnot on there. I finally downloaded the Black Dice album from this year because it was on so many artists' lists, but just as I suspected, it's not really that good. I think a lot of people just know that guy (Eric Copeland). Or they smoke a lot of pot which may make it sound a lot better.

Thanks to these lists posted here, I saw that Sparklehorse did an In the Fishtank session with Fennesz. Seems like it could be pretty interesting, extremely boring, or likely a mix of both.
