what? how could this be? the (self-proclaimed) master of mixes needs ideas? well actually i always need ideas but rarely ask for them, as i like to have each compilation come straight from my brain and no one elses. But anyway, my remaining moments are few so I'll toss out these half-done ideas and see what can be done.

The Android's Penthouse (theme = songs by electronic-esque bands that have to do with sex and love and relationships)

1. add n to x - metal fingers in my body
2. coldcut - everything you always wanted to know about sex
3. dj qbert - aphrodisiscratch
4. kid koala - bar hopper
5. momus - thank you to everyone i have ever had sex with
6. tubeway army - are friends electric?
7. faint - worked up so sexual
8. knodel - do it
9. squarepusher - my red hot car
10. cex - have cex
11. meat beat manifesto - ?

---------------------------------------------------------

Sleep Away Your Troubles (theme = songs that are dreamy, in sound and content)

1. Jellyfish - Hush
2. Santo & Johnny - Sleepwalk
3. Salad - Dream A Little Dream
4. Softies - Sleep Away Your Troubles
5. Everly Brothers - All I Have To Do Is Dream
6. Smashing Pumpkins - ? (I know they have at least one)
7. La Pieta - Lullabye
8. The Spaniels - Goodnight Sweetheart
9. Moby - ?

-------------------------------------------------------------

more to come - off to church - happy easter people!

Sir Bort,

To add to your sleepy/dreamy one:

The Jimmy Chamberlain Complex - Loki's Cat ft. Billy Corgan

It's new, even.

edit: I just realized that it doesn't have "sleep" or "dream" in the title though. I guess that's what you're looking for, eh?

do you know of any songs by these artists with a dream/sleep/night theme?

Slowdive - 'So Tired'
Ulrich Schnauss - 'Monday Paracetamol'
Max Richter - 'Embers'

Slowdive are easy they have heaps, the other two are instrumental so it's harder to find ones that fit a sleep/dream theme.

Android's Penthouse comp

Air - Sexy Boy (Air is really easy for this comp)
Just about any Tricky song, but how about 'Abboan Fat Track'

sleep or dream does not have to be in the title. but the song should be about sleeping and/or dreaming or something of that nature.

As far as a Smashing Pumpkins song for the dream mix--I'd say Soma off of Siamese Dream would work pretty well.
