Billy - why all the Kevin Fowler this week?

I just discovered him a few months ago. The three I've listened to this week were ones I just found used. All first listens and all pretty good.

I need to try this again. I have never really been fond of the stuff they put out after Eight Legged Groove Machine, but it's been years since I've listened to any of the stuff they put out in the 90s.

I really liked Hup, but NLE was a clear turning point in Miles Hunt's songwriting. Not sure what happened to him, but he never got that melodic gift back. Snide + melody = awesome. Snide - melody = annoying.

I don't know...
Songs like "Size Of a Cow", "Welcome To the Cheap Seats", "Caught In My Shadow", and "Here Comes Everyone" (among others)... I don't see how you could say that there's no melody there. I love this record. (Although I did just order Eight-Legged Groove Machine after these comments. Thanks!)

Yeah, I still have HUP, but have never been a huge fan of it, save for a couple tracks. Maybe I'll revisit it this weekend.

Have you heard 8LGM? It's just filled with 2 1/2 minute snarly pop gems. I can't imagine you not liking it.

A friend of mine played it for me when we were in college and I remember liking it, but I never picked it up. So now, here I go...

Just a random guy to get into. I know of him because we book at a lot of Texas bands.

He gets a fair amount of play on the XM/Sirius Outlaw Country channel which is where I discovered him.
