thats right peoples... This time tomorrow I should be angry at the French for making it too hard to find my connecting flight to St. Petersburg, Russia. I hope that I can keep it together and not cause any intentional international incidents, but , c'mon... they're French.

All in all I'll be gone over two weeks, with 3 days in St. Pete, 3 days in Moscow, and the rest of the time spent in a place near the Black Sea/Chechnya (but not too close) called Rostov. I'll have a week of wintery weather, and a week of Springlike climate too.

I'll try to post whenever I can find an internet cafe, or when I'm in the schools with such capacity (this is a trip paid for by the department of Education, so thank you taxpayers) But who knows when I'll really find the time to tear away from looking for mail order brides and drinking my liver to disaster, so...

yay, i've been to st. petersburg. enjoy the (for lack of better word) frumpled sites, and please. for the love of god. do not drink the water.

"Hello everybody from nice, warm (it is only slightly below freezing today) Saint Petersburg, Russia. I wish you all could be here with me, for it is a mighty sweet city of five million friendly souls. We posed with several naked ones just yesterday as they sunbathed outside the Peter and Paul military fortress - The first permenant settlement in St. Petersburg. I also walked out onto the frozen Neva river (I got pictures). The Hermitage was nice, but we didn't have a lot of time, so drat on that. Did see a Da Vinci, several Van Eycks, a whole lot of Rembrants (Peter the Great Loved the Netherlands) and an awful lot of French Impressionism that I would not have expected... Go figure ... the stole it from the Germans,who stole if from Jewish families during the war and are now trying to repatriate it if at all possible.
I'm just about to catch the express train to Moscow in a couple of hours,wish me luck... and help me stop buying so many souvineers (spellcheckis not working too well here)
