Yes, I've always liked "I Fought The Law," it's a great hit. Then I head "Baby My Heart" on that LA Nuggets set, which is also good. Then I heard "Let Her Dance" in the Mr. Fantastic Fox movie, which is also really good. I decided to check 'em out.

I never realized he died so early (at the age of 23 in 1966). From wiki:

Just after "I Fought The Law" became a top ten hit, Bobby Fuller was found dead in his automobile, which was parked outside his Hollywood apartment. The police considered the death an apparent suicide/accident; however, some people believe Fuller was murdered.[5] The investigation was botched from the start. The crime scene was not secured and no fingerprints were obtained. A witness also claimed seeing a police officer throw a can of gasoline found at the scene into the trash. Fuller was found with multiple wounds all over his body and covered in gasoline, leading many to speculate that the perpetrators fled before they could set the car on fire.[6] Police later changed the cause of death to "accidental asphyxiation" citing no evidence of foul play.[7] Despite the official cause of death stated by authorities, rumors and speculation still surround Fuller's mysterious death.[8][9] Fuller is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

The relatives of Sam Cooke have noted similarities in the mysterious nature of his death with those surrounding the death of Bobby Fuller.

Anyway, they only released two real LPs and this blog has one of them, with bonus live tracks as well I think. So far it's really good.

Thanks Bort. I've actually been on an early rock kick for the last couple of months and I've been wanting to pick up some Bobby Fuller.

I have the Rhino "Best Of" collection and it holds a special place on the stacks. Many, many great songs on there.

"A New Shade of Blue" and "Another Sad and Lonely Night" are a couple more of the gems that you did not mention; and another one that should, someday, be used in a movie.

AAAHHHHH DAMN!

The timing of this thread kills me. I just used wiped out my e-music credits on him last month. Funny I had been thinking the same though. An artist I always meant to look into but never did.

Love the BF4 song used at the end of Fabulous Mr. Fox.

So that's where Schulz got the idea for dances in his Charlie Brown Christmas play scene on the stage.
