Trailer has hit.

I love the music choice for the trailer, and I love some of the iconic scenes from the book. However, its got an uphill battle to overcome vs. the original film.

October 1st. Still don't know how I feel about it switching from Colorado to New Mexico. I guess it snows in portions of NM, and there's ice and snow in trailer, so I dunno.

I hope this spurns on a SE version of the original, which was kinda sparse.

From what I read about it, it seems to me like the original movie probably improved greatly on the book.

This looks like it was made directly from the original movie, too, not the book.

New Mexico? Huh.

I really don't understand the need to re-make it just so it can be in English. I am positive that everything good about this movie will be lost. I am going to see it anyway, but I have very low expectations. Maybe that's a good thing.

I don't disagree with that, and in fact, I'm pretty sure I'll never watch this version.

This version is apparently closer to the book in tone and story. Who knows that could be marketing smoke up our collective butts. I do know some scenes that were forgone in the original are in the trailer. I'll see it just to compare and contrast.

I've gotten used to the fact that if a foreign language film has an interesting premise, its probably going to be remade. Not that I agree with the practice, but sigh and shrug my shoulders. For instance, the remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo--totally want to see the remake now that David Fincher is directing.

Yeah, thats in the book and also in the original--that they used morse code to communicate. It was a nice touch.

From what I read about the book, the original movie did a good job of leaving things out and making certain things more ambiguous to make the story more interesting. Apparently nearly all of the ambiguities/mysteries from the movie were more or less spelled out in the book. I don't think anybody ever raved about the book like they did the movie.
