I never understood the hate for him. He sure was talented, brother too. I like him alot. I remember going to blues bars when they were empty around here. He influenced some local acts and one we used to open up for [Fleet Starbuck] who has since died and used to tell us stories of eating messy eggs, white toast and bacon with SRV when he was younger and on the blues circuit in Texas. Fleet was also a former Blues historian and teacher for the local community college. He used to say they were messier than the eggs they ate that morning and never talked about who was better or this or that, but always who their favorite artists were.
