Ghostbusters 3 to start filming in 2011?

I'm not sure who their source is, but I am a little bit wary of how true all of this is.
Still, if it is true, this had better be good. Although, I'm not sure how it can be...

It’s been 21 years since the last Ghostbusters film. There have been tons of rumors around a third film in the franchise, but now we have word that the long awaited movie is coming to a theater near you. Director Ivan Reitman confirmed to PasteMagazine that there will in fact be a third Ghostbusters movie. The movie, which is set to start filming in May 2011, is not without some controversy.

In 2008, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky were called upon to pen a new script for the film, and the duo did just that, with a little help from Dan Akroyd. After the original idea was trashed by Bill Murray because of the planned screen-writers work on the Harold Ramis directed “Year One.” Bill Murray as well as original cast members Sigourney Weaver, Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis and Ernie Hudson will all return for the flick. The rumored plot calls for the original 4 to bring along a group of up and coming Ghostbusters, plus some additional twists.

This has been kicking around a lot for the past few years. Bill Murray says its not happening, and Harold Ramis says it is. I don't know who to believe. There was talk about making it a Judd Apatow comedy with a lot of the cast of Knocked Up/Superbad/40 Year Old Virgin. Who knows. I'll believe it when I see pictures of it actually filming.

Correct response. It's not like the Ghostbusters franchise has been the gold standard of filmmaking.

In 2007, Val Kilmer expressed an interest in making a sequel to Real Genius, but no shooting dates have been set. A remake of the film is rumored to be in consideration for a 2013 release.[13]

A remake or "reboot" of Real Genius is also rumored to be in the works, as opposed to making a Sequel to the original movie.[14]

Most likely the Mitch character is Michael Cera or Jonah Hill.

They could get "that funny Chinese dude" to play Ick.

Not sure who has the youth and insouciance to play a young Kilmer.

It will suck no matter what, but Hollywood has officially run out of ideas, aside from fictionalizing true crime (where only the details change) and new super heroes no one cares about.

Hopefully there will be lots of CG animals, too. Not ghost animals or anything. Just regular animals, done in CG.
