If you think the idea of a Jamaican mento band (mento being a forerunner of reggae with more calypso influence) covering the likes of Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Amy Winehouse, Johnny Cash and such, then this is the album you've been waiting for. Personally I think it works way better than I would have expected. Lots of fun and really way better than just the tossed off hip joke it sounds like from the set up.
