Oh come on Haq, that lavender is you, baby.

Also, hey Haq, what's up?

Oh hey, Yail. Been busy with work and other stuff, and not really listening to a lot of music, so I haven't felt compelled to contribute to the (infrequent?) music talk around here. My major accomplishment in the last few months is achieving sustainable brokeness -- now that the lady has been gainfully employed for a piece and we've worked out a budget, I'm not worrying much about money (even though nearly half of my net income is going to repay law school loans).

How about you? Apart from shaving?

I do my neck and clean up the beard once or twice a week. My shaving shit lasts about a year.

(Hola, Haq.)

Chasing a 1.5 year old around, working my ass off to make this business work and trying to save money. Just keeping my head down and living mainly. Glad you're good...now find some decent music to listen to already.

After a several-month Love Language binge kicked off when andyfest bought me their first one, I've finally bought a couple of albums: the new Old 97's and the new Kanye West. (Neither of which has its own thread in Rock/Pop, which I'm all like WTF.) I think the Old 97's are holding their own on this one. I agree with andyfest (in some old thread Bob started) that Rhett's lyrics aren't in top form, but it seems like they really spent some time with these songs, and like they're growing as musicians again (rather than just regressing to better times as they did on the last 2 albums). Kanye West is a departure for me, but I've been following the guy on Twitter and seeing him interact with his fans won me over. Between that, the reviews, and Amazon's $3.99 sticker price, I gave it a shot. I think I really like it. He's right though, he really can't sing.

Problem with shave oil is that it makes the shaved bits of hair stick to the basin afterwards. So you have to scrub it after each shave pretty much.

Not worth it, even if it does give a superior shave...

At the moment I can't get over how much shaving is costing me. If I use anything less than a gillette five blade, it tears my beard like a cunt. I get two or three shaves at the most per razor head, and a pack of three is like 25 bucks. If I shave every day that's like fifty bucks a fortnight. What the fuck...

I need a switch. What are my options? I dont mind laying out on something expensive if it's gonna work and save me money in the long run...

your best option is in my first post. but then again, you don't like oil.

since i've been using oil and shaving this way, my face stays cleanly shaven for close to 2 days...barely any growth. that will not only save you on razors, but you won't be shaving nearly as much.
