Anybody been watching this? Donal Logue and the serial killer from Season 1 of True Blood play Rockford Files-esque low-rent private eyes. Logue's a recovering alcoholic who was kicked off the police force and also managed to lose his wife during TEH DRUNKENING. I was on the fence after the first couple of episodes, but have come around on it. Good stuff.

I'd like to see that gang of tech geeks in the beaten-down RV they are friends with show up more often.

I love this show, but unless there is a huge turnaround in ratings for the last few episodes it looks like this might be the only season. Too bad, because I think its the best new show on tv. I like it a ton more than Boardwalk Empire.

Also, TV critic Alan Sepinwall on why you should be watching it and why FX should give it a second season: http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan- ... ld-save-it

Really good read.

I still thought it was about dogs until very recently.

There were ads ALL OVER Los Angeles when it was coming out, which wasn't a huge surprise because a lot of FX-like networks do this. The problem was that the ad featured nothing but the name of the show. So of course everyone assumed it was either about dogs or had a cast too freakishly ugly to put on billboards.

I keep meaning to check it out, but since I don't have cable it means I have to be bothered to download it just to try it out, which is unlikely with all the shit I plow through.

yeah, this is the best new show of the fall. the ratings are abysmal because the advertising was awful. i was lucky that a friend with a screener said, "i know the ads look dumb, but you have to watch at least the first episode." i was hooked. i'd like to be optimistic and think it'll get a second season since i don't think fx has ever cancelled a show after only one season, but this isn't exactly a cheap show to produce, so i could see them being the first.

Yea, the co-creator Shawn Ryan has basically owned up to the fact that its an unfortunate and confusing name for the show, but what are you gonna do.

Cotton, you can watch full episodes on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/terriers

Great season/series finale (if it comes to that). I'm really going to miss this show and these characters if it doesn't get a second season.

Anyone else watch it?

yeah. i didn't love the finale, but there was a whole lot to enjoy about it and it was still in the top echelon of tv programming this fall. a few tiny details and writing that trusted viewers really sold me.

I would just like to point out that this series has the best theme song to come along in a good while:

Yeah, I dig it. Would like it to come back for a 2nd season, but I'm ok if it doesn't. I feel like they had a really good season, even if it started a little slow. Better than Walking Dead anyway

Favorite show of the year, shame about the (completely expected) cancellation, yet I'm oddly cool with it. They filmed every episode before the show even premiered, so there was nothing in the way of tinkering - nor will there be future attempts - to appeal to a different audience. Not that it needed to change anything - more zombies? - it just adds to the clarity and quality of the content that it is permanently encapsulated. Shame though, I could've done with a network-style full order, that's how much I liked the characters.

Finally got around to watching this entire season in like 3 days (even paid for it). Loved the show, still am iffy at best about Donal Logue. It sucks it was canceled, but yeah, at least they got to air the entire season without network interference.

As I mentioned on twitter, it plays out a lot like Veronica Mars, (single-episode plots tied into a longer, season-long plot) but about adults and a little bit darker. Hell of a show. I liked all the characters, the development, the plot, etc... even the ending was even-keeled, which surprised me. I thought the dude who played Britt did a hell of a job, but there's still zero fucking chance I'll ever bother with True Blood.

I actually really liked Logue in this. I can't really remember anything he's been in that I've watched and thought "wow, good actor" so it was a nice surprise. Really liked his chemistry with Britt (as well as that actor), so that may have been a big part of it. The two actors are apparently really good/best friends in real life, so that certainly seemed to help.
