Weezer- Blue Album

Despite how much they suck now this is for me the perfect power pop album.

I know Nada Surf quite good and I think I've heard something by the Posies. Perhaps they were to sloppy for me. Nada Surf has some nice albums. Matthew Sweet I don't know, but I will change that soon.

This one never gets any mention but is so damn catchy all the way through

Lots of great records in here but if anything this thread proves there are pretty varying opinions on what power pop is.

Speaking of Gidget's Ga-Ga, just saw Mick from that band at the Chilton bash that I played a couple of weeks ago. Good guy.
Gonna try to do a collab with him at some point.

I've always liked that artwork, but I just realized about 30 seconds ago that the girlie is pulling out Parallax Project's I Hate Girls album. Is that a sly bit of photoshopping or is that just the image?

BTW - spent way too long last year looking for a dl of that album. Never did find it, although I ended up buying a track off itunes. The hard copy came with a bonus cd of cover versions that seems like the must-have part of the package.

Nice Rick. Good to hear it's been getting some spins. This record is certainly deserving of more recognition.

Yeah it's probably more pop and less power but really no more than say The Raspberries, Big Star, Badfinger, or any others from that era that have been mentioned thus far.

Solid record.

i'd second a lot of these... and i think brendan benson's solo stuff should get oodles of love.
