I know I'm booked on the 23rd, 24th and 26th. I might be able to meet you for a drink or dinner or something on the Tuesday or Thursday night though. I'm going to be down at the Grammy Museum right by the Staples Center that Tuesday night for an event that ends at 9pm so it should be easy to just stick around and meet for drinks or a late dinner that night.

If you are working a lot and don't have any larger ambition that finding places to eat and drink, you probably don't need a car at all. There are a number of very good restaurants and bars in the area. If you have free time though and are looking to see or experience LA, its sprawling though and downtown isn't really the center of LA life like the downtown is in other cities so you would need a car.

I got an offer to come work for the Tw1n5 instead of C1SC0 today. By cutting the middlemen out I can make more, travel less and take on a much more creative role. It will start next month. So after this trip to los angeles, I won't be back out there in Feb like I had originally thought. Unless they really mess things up without me.

shit, I am literally in the process of sorting out the jobs I just got and trying to come up with a reasonable schedule for me to work them. I might be able to work something out this week, but it's gonna be unlikely.

Was thinking tonight would work for me but it probably won't. I just got back into town from a business trip and am dead tired. I have plans tomorrow night and thursday so guess it won't work out this trip. Hope you enjoy your stay though and if you need recommendations of where to eat/drink downtown just ask.

the project i'm working on is a dead sprint so i'm working twelve hours or more each day. i JUST got off today. my feet are killing.
i'd love to attempt to expense a grass prescription but i was told there are no "doctors" in walking distance. i really think i could fly that under the radar because most of my meals have been expensive and fabulous. flemings, wolfgang puck ( its a chain i've seen at airports but it really was great ) , and the yard have all had great food and service. keep in mind i'm not paying for it though.

on sunday night i met up with an old bandmate who lives here. he showed me around a little. i actually like the city a lot more than i thought i would. though i'm probably only seeing a nice clean part of it.

cotton come pick me up dude i need a weed card. i heard they make pot pop now. got to try it dog.

also, i was drinking shipyard xxxxxx pale ales at the restaurant tonight. i ordered it assuming by the ocean-y name that it was local but it's from maine I just don't see it in MN. good stuff either way. i spilled my last one on the project managers blackberry.

Amoeba visit????

i'm hoping that i don't work past their open hours every day. the guy that i'm training lives in west hollywood so he could take me there on his way home and then i could cab back er something.

I dunno, I feel like I was underwhelmed by Amoeba. It might be because I liked the SF store more, or that internet music shopping has made stores like that sort of tedious for me (except for the used stacks, which are awesome). Personally, I think as a tourist in West Hollywood, it's far more entertaining to get a table outside on the strip and watch all the 80s hair-band refugees walk up and down the blvd and show off their mullets. or go to Coach & Horses, but that place just closed down (boo).

cats, my pot card is long expired. I haven't heard anything about pop, but the last time I was in the store they had something called "earwax" that looked like it's name and smelled like nail polish remover. It made me forget what decade it is. Fun!

I agree that Amoeba would be much more valuable if not for the ability to find and order practically anything you want via the Internet. That said, it's a much bigger store than the SF one. What is it that you like about the SF store better?

I do most of my buying via the internet but I still like having the ability to just browse through the used racks over at Amoeba and try to make it over there about once a month and when I do I usually come home with at least 2-3 things that Amazon might have but I'd never think to even look for.

good question, and honestly i don't know. I definitely didn't want to punch the staff in the face in SF as much as I tend to in LA, but then I didn't get asked for a cigarette by 27 people outside of the Hollywood location. It honestly might've just been the frame of mind I had in SF on vacation that did it.

we drove out to santa monica last night. we ate at ocean ave and so did clint eastwood. it was the first time i've seen the pacific ocean, unless you count the bay in seattle.
