Anybody catch this last night? EGAD. Gord Downey needs to reel it in by about 40% or something. I was literally cringing watching him last night.

It was just WWAAAAAAAAYYY over the top.

When he started singing the Weakerthans' lyrics instead of his own, I had to turn it off.

I didn't even know this was on.

The Weakerthans and Feist were present?

So it's not just a Sum 41, Avril Lavigne press event anymore?

I have no idea if the Weakerthans were present....

I just know Gord Downey, in a fit of self-indulgent, feelin' big euphoria, started rattling off the lyrics to the Weakerthans' "aside".

between that, and his chasing the microphone stand around, and his usual pomposity amplified to daring new embarrasing heights, it was all I could stand.

Gord Downey...Canada's answer to Bono.

Is Feist any good? ie. better than her performance showed? She did beat The Arcade Fire for Alternative Artist of the Year.

i really like feist. i think her disc gets a bit "sade-esque" in the middle but the beginning and end are fantastic. she looked scared shitless for the 15 seconds i was watching. she just sounded really weak.

I haven't watched it yet; I pvr'd it so I could fast forward though the crap which admittedly may make for a very short show.

The Weakerthans were not present, I think I read that they're on tour somewhere else in Canada.

They were in the Weakerthans hometown, Winnepeg Manitoba.
