At Oregon's Lewis & Clark College, another student was detained by campus police Wednesday shortly before a vigil for the Virginia Tech victims when he was spotted wearing an ammunition belt. Portland police later determined that it was "a fashion accessory" made of spent ammunition, and said the man did not have a weapon. The belt was confiscated.

whatever they can do to stop stupid belt trends is ok in my book, though.

i go to this school - they sent out a note warning about it about an hour after this dude was spotted walking around. haha..nice work.

Chris Rock: I think we need some bullet control. I think every bullet should cost five thousand dollars. Five thousand dollars for a bullet. Know why? Cos if a bullet cost five thousand dollars, there'd be no more innocent by-standers. That'd be it. Some guy'd be shot you'd be all 'Damn, he must've done something, he's got fifty thousand dollars worth of bullets in his ass!' And people'd think before they shot someone 'Man I will blow your fucking head off, if I could afford it. I'm gonna get me a second job, start saving up, and you a dead man. You'd better hope I don't get no bullets on lay-away!' And even if you get shot you wouldn't need to go to the emergency room. Whoever shot you'd take their bullet back. 'I believe you got my property?'

I think America needs to get back to concerning itself with the important things, namely Britney Spears' bald head and American Idol. I'm so tired of discussing massacres. We need to focus on mundane things like we used to. Get it together people. Let's get back to Sanjaya and Don Imus, you know, the important issues. Retards.

I bet Don Imus is saying to himself, why couldn't he go crazy a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah they were talking about that on the radio on Tuesday. How slow of a news week was it that Imus dominated everything for a whole week?

Also, I actually thought about greygrey last night when I was watching CNN. Wolf Blitzer had just done an hour of coverage on the massacre and then gave a quick mention that yesterday was one of the bloodiest days of the war in months. Over 250 dead in one day in several different attacks. Almost ten times the loss of life.

I'm not saying that the kid should've brought up this point during the context of the conversation on Monday but I did notice this last night.

I have a pretty crazy story about this incident.

As I have mentioned before, I am in a moped gang here in SF, and we are friends with other moped groups all over the country, two of which are in Virginia -- Richmond and Blacksburg. The people in the Blacksburg group all go to VA Tech. I don't know any of them personally, but I am good friends with a lot of the Richmond people, who know the Blacksburg people.

After this happened, my friend from Richmond contacted the Blacksburg people to see if they were okay. None of them were killed or injured, however, one of them was in the classroom where all those people were killed. He was apparently one of only two people to walk out of there alive, and he did this by playing dead.

You think it is This Guy that's in your moped gang?

Yes, that's him.

I couldn't help noticing one of the grad students killed (who was, I believe, a grad student of a former colleague of mine) has a pile of notes from all his various message board buddies up on the NYT site. I'm glad all you folks are ok. Group hug, obners.

David Graham, I swear, I didn't do it. Not this time. Not the previous time. It wasn't me.

I swear.
