I watched The Prowler last night, which wasn't good. Then I watched Kick Ass, which wasn't scary, but at leasst had costumes.

This morning I watched Puppet Master.

I watched Paranormal Activity last night. It was OK.

It was reasonably creepy/scary. Ending was kinda disappointing.

I like the alternate ending more.

from the horror marathon the other night.

hausu man-eating pianos! this was...weird. i fell asleep near the middle so i think i missed some of the story but i'm sure it really didn't matter. would be great to watch while you're shithoused.

re-animator probably one of my top 5 movies ever. amazing gore, great story, nice performances by jeffery combs and david gale. i could watch this over and over.

fright night i thought this was going to be the movie that i figured i could sleep through since i've seen it a bunch of times and didn't need to watch it again but i stayed up for most of it. it's quite enjoyable and the fx are really good at times.

the gates of hell i haven't seen this in a long time even though i have the dvd. i think i've seen the beyond more though i don't really like the ending to that movie. this was excellent and has a great score by fabio frizzi. the deaths get a little samey (there were at least 3 people who got the back of their head clawed and their brains ripped out) but nonetheless it's quite good.

invaders from mars eh, not one of tobe hooper's best movies. the acting is awful at times and i really didn't care about the characters that much. karen black looked pretty hot in it though and it was nice to see james karen in another horror-ish movie.

don't go in the house a dude who was abused by his mom as a kid goes off the deep end when she dies and takes a flamethrower to a bunch of women. this is probably worth a viewing but it's a cheapo. not much gore and the acting is horrible but it's unintentionally funny at times.

Yeah, the alternate was a better ending I think.

I wish had hadn't seen the trailer, since it gave away the ending...I was waiting for someone to come flying into the camera and I kinda figured out when it would happen since it hadn't happened yet in the movie. Would have liked to have seen this in a full theater.

the more that i think about it, i like the sequel more, mostly for the fact that the annoying boyfriend is barely in it.

Just picked up this blu-ray today at B&N's Criterion sale. Really enjoyed the hell outta it. I'm a sucker for those pre-CGI special effects. And the near-ending really did get creepy.

This just came to me recently.
Body Snatchers (1993)

Yet another remake/reimagining of the same story. But this time, in a stroke of genius, it's set on an Army base -- the ultimate conformist setting.
A truly scary movie.
Includes this incredible monologue from Meg Tilly:

One of my favorite moments in any movie. Made the hair on my arms stand up watching it just now.
Damn.
