Weird, I know these guys. Local folks. Good on them. Glad they are getting exposure.

I haven't yet. I have heard a couple of remixes of "Welcome to the Feast of Trumpets" and I think one of "Bia Mintatu" but haven't heard the source material. I will make sure to check it out.

Similarly, if you haven't heard that Ken Seeno (guitarist for Ponytail) I am more than happy to send it your way, something I think you would probably like a bit. A lot different than his work with them, but still pretty great. One of my biggest surprises of the year for sure.

No, I haven't heard it, and I'd definitely like to.

I don't have Cut Hands on me, or I'd upload it as well. I'll try to remember to do that in the next few days.

Nice to see this on your list, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but it's on my wish list.

I can't keep up with McCann but I'd like to hear his last few releases at some point. Interesting list.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not too much change for me. Finally connected with the Earth record, serious slow grower.

My top tier:

Tape - Revelationes
Ernest Dawkins' New Horizons Ensemble - The Prairie Prophet
David S. Ware, Cooper-Moore, William Parker, Muhammad Ali - Planetary Unknown
Burning Sensation - S/t
Neil Young - A Treasure
Causa Sui - Pewt'r Session 1
Sungrazer - Mirador
Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light 1
Apache Dropout - S/t
Night Beats - S/t

I can't be bothered to list the rest.

I completely forgot that Apache Dropout and still haven't given that Earth a listen. Nice list though. Look forward to your year end here in a couple of months.

That Stare Case is nice. I guess they have put out a few this year but that is the only one I have been able to track down so far. A big departure from Wolf Eyes, which is kind of nice at this point.

As for McCann, that dude has had a ridiculous year. Like you said I can't keep up with him. It's like what Justin Wright was doing a couple of years ago where there is a tape or CDR coming out every couple of weeks it seems and none of them are misses. I think he has always shown a lot of promise and has had a really diverse sonic palette for a long time, but something has happened this year that has just elevated his work to a really special level, in my opinion anyways.

I'm just now hearing this for the first time, and I must concur. Really good stuff. They've developed beyond being a mere Spoon copy-paste (though they still resemble them on a song or two here).

Saw these guys last night. They put on a good show, but damn I needed earplugs at times. I usually don't forget to bring them.

Purling Hiss opened and I actually enjoyed them a little more.
