with all of those artist, ill automatically buy their new releases without thinking about it

Outside Tom Waits, I don't think anyone falls in this category for me. There are some newer artists I really like, but none that have produced a long enough streak of good albums for me to trust they are automatic buys. Most of the ones who would have previously are pretty much inactive these days. That said, I'd probably buy a new Boards of Canada or Massive Attack unheard.
