This just in: ESPN to now air sports between interviews with Stephen A. Smith about Kobe/Dwight.

Blech. Just when I thought Kobe and the Lakers couldn't be any more insufferable.

I think I now actually hate Dwight Howard more than Kobe.

The season has been like watching paint dry. Anyone outside of FT know that the Spurs have the best record in the NBA?

I think people know this, but just assume the old geezers will fade late in the playoffs again. I have a hard time putting together a viable counterpoint to that argument, especially given what happened in last year's WCF.

That being said, Tony Parker is playing at an absolute MVP level this season.

Jerry Buss died.

Guess this current Lakers team was just too much for him.

Own thread called "Bury Buss?"

All kinds of sad this year in the Lakerworld.

Sad about the old guy leaving, or the new guy coming on?

He was a great and even visionary owner and undoubtedly good for the sport of basketball. Condolences. (Because god knows the shit heel kids of guys like Buss always manage to screw things up)

I hope they bury him, with honor, in his Members Only jacket.

The only and I mean ONLY difference between Buss and Jones is that Buss was smart enough to let his basketball people (West, Kupchak, etc.) actually run the basketball side of things (personnel, drafting, coaching hires, etc.), whereas Jones is so deluded he thinks he's the world's most brilliant GM.

Actually, there is now one other clear difference (a pulse), which is really too bad. As tragic as the day was for Laker fans, whenever it inevitably happens here in Dallas, it will be a much more jubilant occasion.

No Josh Smith. No Jeff Teague. No ZaZa. Of course the Hawks beat LA.

That Kobe hobbled off with an ankle sprain, then cried about afterwards was just icing on the cake.

They're basically bored and looking for new and exciting ways to win games.

Also this...

The Sixers continue to astound with their ability to give away games. I just wish there was some amazing draft piece I could say they've been tanking for...
