See, this is songs ABOUT drinking, but there are much better songs to get drunk to,like say the whole of Exile on Mainstreet.

This list is shit. It has some good drinkin songs but most are about alcohol and not drinkin.

Where the hell is Willie's "Whiskey River"?

Maybe I just equate drinking songs with country more than they do.

Oasis at number 1? I like the song but in this context.....GARBAGE!

It's not surprising that a Brit mag wouldn't have many country songs. Don't want to make such a blanket statement but unless you're name is Johnny Cash I've never met a Brit who had anything but disdain for country music.

you've never been to Liverpool, England then. Or Manchester for that matter. Country music is quite big there. I went to a country & western pub in Hale [near Liverpool] where the band played covers, and the whole place was decked out in country gear, and rowdy as hell.

You'd be surprised at how many people get into country over there.

There's a Grand Ol' Opry in Glasgow, Scotland, complete with shitkickers. Ask Darrin, he'll enlighten you.

No way, when I lived in Salford my local was like americana-country heaven. They had a country night, down an alley in a residential area in flippin' Salford--don't know that there's such a thing here in californ-i-a.

This list does suck, though. Songs about booze are not the same thing as drinking songs.

Yeah, there's a replica of the Grand Ol' Opry in Glasgow. Country music is huge here at least with a certain age band (50+). 'New' Country never really took off but the classic 50's, 60's, 70's is well loved and very popular.
