Weezer - Pinkerton Deluxe Reissue : Believe it or not I never owned this album. I think that means I'm partially responsible for Rivers being all butt hurt and then turning in a bunch of crap albums. But I found this in the used racks for cheap so here we are.

The album itself is wonderful. It's like great...uh, Weezer, but so different from the Blue album before it. The b-sides are killer, as well. Probably too many extra/live versions of "Pink Triangle" and "The Good Life" but otherwise not bad at all. Heck, even the throwaway outtakes are a worthy tease - if they took the time and effort to actually finish "Long Time Sunshine" it coulda been amazing.

Also this week:
Replacements - Hootenanny
Cock Sparrer - Shock Troops

Saw her opening for... Kasey Chambers, maybe? And bought her previous one from her out in the lobby where the wife and I had a nice little chat with her and her bass player. Really sweet kids. Anyway, I like that earlier one. How's this one?

I blind bought it, and am not disappointed.

...sometimes I find it too easy to blind buy when a pretty face is involved.

Matthew Sweet - Kimi Ga Suki * Raifu : I remember really liking this when it first came out. Re-listening again and re-liking it.

Toadies - Rubberneck : Another album I liked waaay back in the day. I remember a friend of mine just a little while ago talking about this album and how the guitar sound and some of the riffs were Pixies rip-offs. After this current listen I agree, but ya know, it still holds up pretty good!
