Pitchfork just released its top songs of the decade list
http://pitchfork.com/features/staff-lis ... 0-2014/10/

Of the Top 10, which is the worst track, the one that shouldn't even sniff the Top 100.

No such thing as trying too hard if you have some kind of focus and direction.

Pitchfork has none.

I like four of these songs, I guess. The only ones I REALLY like are "Helicopter" and "Oblivion". I like that Ariel Pink album a lot, but more than half the songs on it are better than "Round and Round". M83 is whatever, but that song is pretty good.

Actually the Azealia Banks song sounds pretty cool, but I've never really listened to her before so I don't have a set opinion yet.

Of the other five, I guess I'll pick Kanye as the worst just on principle. I've come to kind of hate the production on most of MBDTW, and "Runaway" is one of the worst offenders. I've never listened to Drake other than a tidbit here and there, but he's always sounded awful to me. Robyn is some weak shit. Frank Ocean is bullshit. Kendrick Lamar is just kind of boring to me.

Good assessment, though I do like that Drake song

No direction = trying too hard. Too hard to be everything to all things Indie and all things Hipster and cool.
Trying too hard.

i'd vote for drake. i mean the song is alright, it'd probably be ok to dance to in a club or something but i just kind of hate drake so...

robyn is awesome. frank ocean is a little overhyped but he's got some good songs. kendrick and kanye are great.

azealia banks was good when that song came out but she hasn't really capitalized on it due to shit going on with her record company. she could've probably been as big as nicki minaj (ugh) but not sure if that'll happen now.

i still check out pitchfork just to find new stuff to download but their year end lists and other shit are becoming increasingly irrelevant. i mean, seriously did ariel pink, kendrick lamar, real estate, swans, tame impala, danny brown, kurt vile, beyonce, arcade fire, vampire weekend, beach house, kanye and drake each need 2 albums in the top 100 of the decade? nevermind all the other albums i have a problem with on there.

Yeah, if you believe their list, so far this decade is a really boring repeat of the previous one.

I only LIKE maybe 2 of those songs: Frank Ocean and Ariel Pink.

What happened to pitchfork. We might as well call the Rolling Stone. So many bad songs on that list.

Hell, Rolling Stone might even come up with a better list.

You're alright man, I was just pointing out that that succession of posts was kind of funny.

Although I would worry just a little bit about anybody who likes ALL of these songs.

There is such a thing as exceptions to the rule.

Just not in this case.
