I'll probably listen to it tomorrow and post thoughts.

I think with the speed that the board moves these days, it'll be best not to do more than two or three of these a week.

Thanks for putting this up since I never would have taken the opportunity to listen to it otherwise.
In summary, I like it.

...btw the first track/file is all effed up.

Oh OK. Thanks for checking that out. I downloaded multiple copies so I'll check out the other ones and see if they're any better. Sorry I didn't take the time to check this one out before uploading it.

New link posted above. No glitches on the first track this time. (Hopefully the rest is good, too.)

I may not keep up with everyone else but I'm looking forward to this.

The Boys Next Door - Door, Door

Yeah, this isn't bad. It's definitely on the softer side of post-punk, but Nick Cave already sounds like Nick Cave here. I believe he would have been 21 when this recorded?

Side A is kind of toothless and forgettable for the most part, but from "Somebody's Watching" on it starts to get interesting. "Shivers" is like skipping right over The Birthday Party straight to the solo/Bad Seeds records. I was trying to think where I'd heard this song before, and I guess it was the cover from the Divine Fits album. It's a really good song.

I'd give this album like a 3.5/5

First off, what a great album cover. That being said, the cover combined with this predating The Birthday Party stuff I am familiar with had me thinking I was in for some pretty reckless rock and roll...such was not the case. Cave sounds good here, I will admit that but overall I kind of found myself losing interest in this as it was playing. I didn't really perk up until the last three songs which were all really good, and it ended with the high point of the record for me with "Shivers". Overall not bad, probably not an album I would revisit completely again though. 3/5

I liked it, I don't know how often I would revisit it, but it's . . . nice. Which isn't a word I associate with Nick Cave. But it's just a nice little pop album.

Now that we're post-holidays we need to get this going for real.

I think everything else from here on out is on Spotify, but I can probably provide links for anyone who prefers them. At least for everything up through Henry's Dream.

I'd appreciate links if it's not too much of a pain in the ass.
