Yea, but he popularized it for the masses through his use of it on SportsCenter. And in turn, changed what folks expected a SportsCenter anchor to be/act like/look like. That's his legacy more than the catchphrase.

I (unfairly) held his UNC roots against him later in life, but like every other teenage boy who obsessed over SportsCenter back when it used to be only 30 minutes up until it was on nearly every hour of the day, he was a pretty big figure. RIP.

Was never a huge fan of his schtick, but I totally get why so many have been devastated by his passing. Seemed like a really solid dude, and much respect anyone to who fought three bouts with cancer like he did.
