paul westerberg 4/30
british sea power 5/12
built to spill 5/16
gang of four 5/20 (the day before my college graduation... from fucking college)
doves 5/23
spoon 6/3
stephen malkmus 6/4 which i already have tickets for, but which still conflicts with the futureheads elsewhere
old 97s 6/11
bloc party 6/16 (i've never seen a buzz band mid-buzz before, this could be the first)

sure, there are others, but these are the most feasible for me to actually attend.

shit.

You know why? 'cause most of them are heading out at the same time, either before or after Coachella...

and, since they're playing that Mega-festival, they're skipping any smaller gigs in So. Cal. ...

There's your answer...

Oh, sorry, Built to Spill is playing Club Sonar in Baltimore, I saw it a few days ago and just assumed it was the same show.

I just prefer to drive to Baltimore than DC, partly because I can get around better.

Most bands play on the festival circuit during the summer so they tend to do their 'club' dates at this time of year.

Art Brut could tempt me out....

I am green with envy.

People gig in the summer because there's less shitty weather to drive through and die in.

Btw, Darrin, once I confirm plans, you're getting called out to play with me on the streets of Glasgow or Edinburgh. :)
