I think it's better than Cost of Recess.

Not as good as "The Tits" (which is still available, btw). :rawk:

Yeah, reminded me of the fifth third bank too. Since that bank name has baffled me for years, I was thinking about it the other day, and only then realized that the original bank was probably located on 5th and 3rd. Bolt out of the blue.

A friend of mine had a band for about a year called Two Pints Of It. That was twenty years ago, though.

I rather like Three Fifths Of It. Makes you wonder what the "it" is.

Alright...cursory listens

Absolutely LOVE the second song (pretty good acoustic louder). It reminds me of so many things. I think your vocals really work on this one, and I like the fact that you're using a harmonica in a non-cheesy way, something that's pretty hard to do.

Somewhere in the Middle is pretty good too, but I don't like it quite as much. The lyrical structure seems a tad forced in the bridge/chorus, and the song seems a bit too long. However, the music is very well executed and when it kicks back into that main theme from the bridge it's really tight. The final verse ("I've been going to work...") is the story of my fucking life for the past month, so big thumbs up there. Seems like the tune really comes together well in the last minute or so. Love the ending.

No. He wasn't around for the drafting of the Constitution, and its three-fifths clause regarding African-American slave non-citizenship (but population of A.A. still counting toward electoral college).

Henry Clay's Compromise of 1850 did prohibit slave sales in the District of Columbia, and slavery in California; meanwhile, it allowed for slave-wranglers to enter the Northern free-states to capture run-away slaves.

Pretty even, huh?

I was pretty sure he didn't, but you know - I see "compromise," I think Henry Clay!

With the carefully placed exclamation point.

it comes from the merger of the third national bank and the fifth national bank, i think. as a kid from cincinnati my dad had some long, drawn out story that i believed referenced the media, the fourth estate and johnny bench in explaining the derivation of the name that i bought for many, many years.

Damnit. My solutions to mysteries are never right. I went through the entire Hardy Boys collection without guessing a single ending.

it sounded good though, for what it's worth. if you'd told me that in a bar i'd have believed you. seemed logical.
