Loved this flick.

Tracey Ullman plays Sylvia Stickles, a Baltimore native who runs a convenience store with her husband (played by Chris Isaak). One day, during her morning commute, she runs out of gas. While standing in traffic, she receives a blow to the head that turns her into a sex addict. Johnny Knoxville plays Ray Ray, the "saint of sexual perversion", who assists Sylvia during her crisis. After "servicing" her, he explains that Baltimore is full of sex addicts, and with her help, they will join together to take over the city.

After Sylvia's concussion, she becomes more aware and accepting of all the sexual "perversion" around her. Meanwhile the "neuters" - people who hate sex, because they think it's 'dirty' - join together to rid their neighborhood of filth.

A Dirty Shame delivers all the wacky characters and outrageous situations you'd expect from a John Waters film. Since the movie based entirely around sexual fetishes, the humor is raunchy as can be. Although it is definitely more polished, this movie is much closer in spirit to Waters' earlier work, like Pink Flamingos and Polyester... Which is definitely welcome, as Pecker and Cecil B. Demented weren't up to par, IMHO.

BTW, the NC-17 version is uncensored. Beware the "neuter version" DVD, as it is heavily edited.

A few terms I learned from this movie:

Roman Shower - A form of foreplay that involves vomiting on your partner.

Pay Day - Intentionally leaving a turd in the toilet after taking a dump. In this movie, the presenter derives sexual pleasure from the discovery of his "gift".

Upper Decker - Leaving a Pay Day in the upper part of the tiolet. Because the Pay Day is hidden from plain view, it can take many days for its victims to determine the source of the odor.

This movie was pretty great until the last 30 minutes, when it literally came to a complete stop and ran out of ideas.
