I was just talking about this movie with Christian last night. I really don't remember why the fuck I was, but I remember it was really funny to think about.

It always amazes me when I watch something from the first half of the 20th century and see how oblivious everyone was to their racist stereotypes. For example, I love The Three Stooges, but if Larry happened to get soot all over his face from a chimney cleaning mishap or something like that, Moe would be suddenly unable to recognize him and would instead call him "Porter" (or some other job only held by black people at that time). I always laugh, and always feel guilty for doing so.

So I also think pictures of blackface are hilarious, BECAUSE of how ridiculous people were back in those days. Still, it feels awkward to laugh.
